Who, Where, Learn

After listening to a podcast featuring GymShark founder Ben Francis, James had an idea to record who he met, where he met them and of course what he learned from the person or interaction.

James developed Who, Where, Learn on iOS to facilitate recording the details and to be able to review his interactions.

“I felt it really important to have functionality to play back the learnings too” said James, who also developed the functionality to play one of the learning highlights back each time the app is opened. The application will choose a random entry and display it to the user. Each entry is time stamped and entries are only saved on the users device, meaning the data is personal and is not shared online. The Who, Where, Learn application can be down loaded from the iOS app store here

Ham Radio Log Book ++

During lockdown James decided to pick up where he left off at 13 and revise for his amateur radio licence.  On successfully obtaining his UK Foundation licence James began to get more involved in radio.

James could never find an easy way to collate radio contacts whilst on the move or quickly without using notes that would get lost or never transcribed into his actual log book.

Another problem James faced was remembering the frequencies for each band and the segments for voice, data or CW (Morse).

Ham Radio Log Book ++ was the idea James came up with started to develop to help record contacts whenever he picked up the radio.  The app also includes the UK Band Plans selectable by frequency.

The app is available on the Apple App Store here
